A recent UNFPA report highlights that adolescents and youth are trending toward online platforms via mobile phone apps in large numbers to access information that is health and news-related.

Solution and its innovative element

In this context, the UNFPA has partnered with 360ed to develop the BayKin 2 app to provide pre-adolescents and their families with a means to access accurate information as they orient themselves and navigate through physical and social developmental stages.

Baykin 2 additionally seeks to equip these young adults with knowledge and tools to be aware of and thus less vulnerable to gender-based violence.

Visualizing Outcomes

This self-learning tool is accessible and engaging for formal education and at-home learners.

The mobile app works offline, providing entertainment and educational opportunities, and access to information on SRHR/GBV and digital rights.
