Bay Kin
Why BayKin 2 Matters
Young people in Myanmar are underserved.
Over 28% of Myanmar’s population is between ages 10 and 24 (UNFPA Myanmar), yet most adolescents still face major barriers in accessing essential information about their health, rights, and safety.
Access to information is limited.
- Teenage fertility rate: 33 births per 1,000 girls aged 15-19
- 16% of girls and women are married before age 18
- Gender-based violence and digital risks are rising, especially among youth
Digital isn’t enough – it needs to be safe,
engaging, and local.
While more youth turn to mobile phones for answers, much online information is unsafe, inaccurate, or not culturally relevant
BayKin 2 fills this critical gap.
